My name is Zack Wetherby, an avatar that was a resident of the virtual world InWorldz. I recently recovered from InWorldzitis: a disease that causes one to believe the delusion that InWorldz is a 'friendly little grid' and a viable alternative to Second Life.
I suffered this debilitating disease for the entire time I was there, about three years. The fever broke recently after I was disciplined by a founder for rebuking a 'mentor’ in their forum. Evidently, truth will not be tolerated in InWorldz if it is not flattering to the founders* or their favorites. My punishment was being banned from posting on their forums. That would have been fine but they allowed their ‘mentor’ favorites to continue to assault me after I was silenced. That did not sit right with me and I began to ponder….
Linden Lab never disciplined me for anything I did or said, whether I was right or wrong. Maybe InWorldz wasn’t very friendly after all.
My eyes opened, I looked and noticed that the concurrency hadn’t changed in three years, rarely ever getting above 300. Maybe InWorldz wasn’t very viable after all.
The moment I realized these things, the InWorldzitis left me and the fever broke. My lesson learned, I clicked my ruby red slippers and POOF I was back home in SL.
There is no place like home.
* The male founders never treated me unfairly.

“Woe unto them that speaketh not flattering things unto the Favored Ones continually in all they say or do whether they be right or wrong. Silence and banish those who would thinketh to do such things. Keep pure the land of unicorns and rainbows and kittens and all such happy things. Do not let the illusion of friendliness be broken, least you die.”
